How to use Malwarebytes after it is installed and Updated:
1. Open Malwarebytes > Click on the Update Tab across the top> get the latest updates.
2. On the Scanner tab, make sure thePerform full scan option is selected and then click on theScan button to start scanning your computer
3. MBAM will now start scanning your computer for malware. This process can take quite a while.
4. When the scan is finished a message box will appear
5. You should click on the OK button to close the message box and continue with the Malwareremoval process.
6. You will now be back at the main Scanner screen. At this point you should click on theShow Results button.
7. A screen displaying all the malware that the program found will be shown
8. You should now click on the Remove Selected button to remove all the listed malware. MBAM will now delete all of the files and registry keys and add them to the programs quarantine. When removing the files, MBAM may require a reboot in order to remove some of them. If it displays a message stating that it needs to reboot, please allow it to do so. Once your computer has rebooted, and you are logged in, please continue with the rest of the steps.
9. When MBAM has finished removing the malware, it will open the scan log and display it in Notepad. Review the log as desired, and then close the Notepad window.

1. Open a Command Window in Administrator mode:

* click All Programs, thenAccessories
* right click on the Command Prompt option,
* on the drop down menu which appears, click on the Run as Administratoroption.

* If you haven’t disabled User Account Control (and you shouldn’t!) you will be asked for authorisation. Click the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password.

2. Start the System File Checker

* In the Command Prompt window, type:sfc /scannow,
* press Enter.
* You’ll see “the system scan will begin”.

The scan may take some time and windows will repair/replace any corrupt or missing files. You will be asked to insert your Vista DVD if it’s needed.

Close the Command Prompt Window when the job is finished.

One caveat: you need a Windows DVD to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs.

I have downloaded Quicken 2017 on my laptop. Everything seems to be successful, but when I try to open the program I get a message from windows saying QuickenWindows has stopped working.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I have all the requirements to run this software. I have tried a couple of the 'fixes' but I keep getting the same results.

You stated that you have Windows Vista Home Premium and that does not qualify for running Quicken.

No I did not upgrade. I have Windows Vista with Service Pack 1. I had Service Pack 2, but removed it to have service pack 1 to meet the compatibility issues.
This is my first Quicken Product.
If I purchase a new computer would I be able to use my purchased software on the new computer.

I have the same error message pretty regularly right after opening my file. I have Quicken 2016 and Windows 10. I have had Quicken for years and have upgraded over an existing product. Also, one step update works sometimes, other times it just sites there spinning endlessly.

Did you remove Service Pack 2, while Quicken was installed?
If you had Service Pack 2 installed, you meet the conditions for Quicken. You did not need to remove Service Pack 2.
Go back to Service Pack 2. I never ran Vista, so I did not know what Service Packs were out.
I would uninstall Quicken Reboot / Restart the computer. Fully patch Vista including all Service Packs.

Yes you can. Quicken 2017, runs in Windows 10.

System Requirements are minimum system requirements.
In the case of Windows Vista this means you must have at least Service Pack SP1 installed ... any higher installed service pack number will be acceptable.

Ok, I have reinstalled service pack 2 for Vista.

When you used the MISI clean process, did you follow all the steps in the article and not just the MISI part?
If so, I would try the Quicken 2017 Mondo Patch and see if that fixes the problem.

Yes, it could be possible Deleted the downloaded program, first, then simply download it again.

Creator, I have 2017, The steps in your article refer to 2015 and 2016.
It seems like a lot of steps to get a program to work...

I fixed the issue!
I had to wipe everything off my computer and restore the factory image on there. I backed up important files, and then restored the computer.
After many updates and tedious downloads I downloaded Quicken 2017 on the computer and it opened up without fail. After working with it for a few days I Love It. Exactly what I was looking for and more.

I have Windows Vista SP2 on my laptop and Quicken Deluxe 2017 was successfully installed. However, when I try to open the program, I get a pop-up message 'QuickenWindows has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available' But no solution is offered. I understand from Quicken's website that the Operating system required is Windows Vista SP1, but if Quicken will work on SP1,shouldn't it also work on SP2 since that is even a newer version of Vista? Is there a fix for this problem?
