Hi brutus09,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers!!!

As the connection is lost intermittently, the issue seems to be with the drivers.

As for now I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers for the wireless adapter and download the updated the drivers from the manufacturers website and see if it can fix the issue.

Access the link below to download the driver for the wireless adapter from Belkin.

1. Go to Control Panel, and, under 'Programs,' select 'Uninstall a program.'

2. Select and uninstall 'Belkin Wireless Adapter Driver' from the list.

3. Disconnect the adapter.

4. Using another PC, or via a temporary Ethernet connection, download the latest driver from the above link.

5. Run the downloaded executable on the target PC, connecting the adapter when prompted.

6. Connect to your wireless network as normal. If you have an encryption key, you'll have to re-enter it, as reinstalling the driver should fix the issue

I'm new to Ubuntu, and I'm trying to get my Belkin USB adapter to work. There are plenty of discussions out there already about this, but none really helped me out.

Belkin F6d4050 V2 Driver Linux Download

Here's what I've done -

  • Installed ndiswrapper Installed
  • ndisgtk Installed the driver
  • (rt2870.inf) via ndisgtk

ndisgtk reported that the driver was installed and the hardware was present.

Belkin

The green light on the adapter is solid green, which I assume means that Ubuntu is aware of it's presence. However, when I click the little wireless symbol at the navigation bar, there's no option to choose my adapter (assuming that it's supposed to show up there...)

My adapter version is F6D4050 -

Where do I go from here? I'm a Ubuntu newb, so speak slowly. :P
